Four Card Puzzle
'Cause it's been awhile since we've had a good puzzle.
You're sitting at a table with four playing cards on it. Two are face up and two are face down. You see an 8, a King, a red-backed card, and a blue-backed card.
You're told that all the Kings in front of you have red backs. What is the maximum number of cards you have to turn over to test if that's true? Which cards do you turn over?

one - the red backed card
I'd turn over 3:
--The King (is the back blue? no? continue)
--The Blue card (is there a King on the back? no? continue)
--The 8 (is there a King on the back, and where did i get this crappy deck?)
Jack: excellent question about the crappy deck! The cards are actually taken from TWO decks, one red and one blue. They're expensive designer decks too - if you saw them you'd fall in love.
As for your answer, and anonymous's answer: neither are correct.
Actually, Jack, I just re-read your answer and you're more or less correct. I neglected to say that the cards aren't double-faced.
And actually again, I just re-reread your answer, Jack, and now see that the "crappy deck" remark was referring to double-faced cards, and that your third answer was a joke, and that the other two answers are in fact the answers you meant, and that therefore you correct, and that I am an idiot.
so yay jack, right? it's official? yay?
Jack is the King
Jack is correct as long as his third answer was, as suspected, a joke.
Third was a semi-joke (I assumed they weren't double-faced but had to make sure).
Do I get origami?
You get cards.
Origami cards!
